The rain did not stop us from going to Potsdam. I’m glad we did because by the time we arrived, the sun was shining – that’s because we brought our umbrellas, right?! We stop for our first ice cream cone of the summer, hoping to make it memorable. We bump cones – that’s memorable, isn’t it? The portion is just the right size for us – and it’s made from all natural ingredients. Nice touch!
Look at those arches – certainly screams English neo-Gothic period, doesn’t it?
We stumble upon Nauener Tor, a gate built in 1755. This is my first glimpse of something that resembles a castle. I’m so excited but realize the day is running late. We don’t have enough time to wander through the gardens or summer palaces of the Kings and Kaisers this time. We will have to come visit again.
